We have created a supply of special 100th Anniversary banners for district use. They are available as of 2/9/2010
|
The banners are 4 feet tall and 8 feet wide, are printed 2-sided, and come as "kits" (a banner, and two PVC upright poles to slide into the buckets and into sleeves on each side of the banner). Banners will have a grommet in each top corner, in case of the need for extra stability with guy lines (not provided), and will also have two grommets on the lower edge about 2' apart, in case a unit wants to hang its own message below the main banner.
Each district will have at least one 4' x 8' banner kit. The banners are meant to be used at every unit sponsor location several times during the anniversary year. Special events like Eagle Courts of Honor, banquets and all places where large groups congregate are ideal locations. This can include sporting events, celebrations and community festivals. Banners should be positioned to allow the most public exposure.
District Commissioners and District Executives will co-ordinate the use of the banners. A schedule of planned locations (with expected turnout/exposure) will be sought from each district on a regular basis, and photos should be taken and submitted for each event that the banners are used at.
We look forward to seeing them up throughout the community in 2010, spreading the Scouting name and legacy of 100 years of service.
